Welcome to the Budget League

For years now we have been playing a variance of concepts of the traditional 100M FPL quota. Well, this is going to be no different really – just that the line is drawn at 75M. A limited amount of 40 players will be selected to represent in the league.

The idea was conceived when I realized that in the 100M league “Template Teams” began to emerge causing competition in the standings rather tight, right down to the captains choice. One of the methods some managers took was to buy into players from the smaller teams; underrated and overlooked players. The Budget League harnesses this “Philosophy” of the FPL. If you are looking for some juicy excuse to join this league, there is just one that I can think of – It’s a great way to keep an eye out on those #differentials in a more practical way (like playing Premier League players in the U-21 league).

Since fantasy.premierleague.com do not have an option for Managers to create custom leagues, The Budget League will require Managers to be honest and respectful to the concept of the concept by sticking to a 75M team. Regardless, each team will be monitored closely by the Administrators. Also, because of this very reason, the league is limited to 40 Managers [for now/this intake].

A couple things to note; since fantasy.premierleague.com do not allow multiple teams/squads for the same account, players will have to create a new account and register when the game is open. Further, we are aware of the potential of FPL Team value rises and falls. In spite of this, the fact of the matter remains that at all times you will have to maintain a value of not less than 25M in the bank.

@degob_ and I (@FPL_JUNKIE) would like to thank you for taking the extra effort in managing a new team for The Budget League. We are also open to suggestions and participation in any aspect of the game.
